Led Zeppelin 1

Led Zeppelin I is an amazing album that feels recent even though it was done 40 years ago. Its sound is a fusion of blues and rock that makes its impossible to resits the urge to groove.

The production of Jimmy Page captured a natural room ambience that enhances the reverb and recording texture on the record.

With the guitar playing constructed around innovative, memorable riffs and lumbering rhythms the album is like a full-blown attack that marks a turning point in Rock and key development in Hard-Rock and heavy-metal.

Robert Plant throws each line with such power and swagger that it feels as though the man's name is sex; Jimmy Page gives bluesy riffs out of this world coupled with the innovative violin bow on a guitar during Dazed and Confused; Jon Paul Jones gives us amazing organ on Your Time is gonna come and provides some great bass lines during the albums harder songs; John Bonham drums like a devil throughout the track never stopping, never tiring.

As a debut album it served as a really great jam session to test the musicianship of the band as they evolved from the sound of their roots.

5 picks (Ill get the picks soon i promise!)

Dead By Sunrise - Out of Ashes

Dead by Sunrise is a necessary album in Chester Bennington's career. It was about time that he went solo and escaped the electronic over-produced sound of Linkin Park's alternative Rock.

Chester's voice never made a huge impact on me, I only knew him as the guy that sang the catchy choruses and verses, never as that guy with the awesome voice as I came to know singers like Axl Rose, Myles Kennedy or Robert Plant!

Its easy to tell that Chester has a good voice and he has good breathing techniques but not much vocal variety. The album shows him as a good singer but not the excellent singer i expected.

Its nothing new and nothing fancy, its just as we heard him in Linkin Park. The band he played with must be given props along with a slap, both for underhanded imitation.

The best song on the album was Give Me Your Name which sounded a lot like Loving The Alien by Velvet Revolver. The guitar work on this track was also worthy of slash but a longer solo would have made the difference.

The songs nonetheless are good, they tend to bash you over the head just like Rock songs are supposed to, and don't lose your attention.

The synth work is good, not over the top, just enough to fill the spaces left by the instruments.

Its a bittersweet audio experience but nothing that makes you WOW or throw cornas in the air.

The biggest peeve was that it was dangerously close to looking like a Linkin Park album.

If Chester Bennington wants to go as a solo Rocker, he needs to separate Linkin Park from Dead by Sunrise.

Cypress Hill Greatest Hits!

I don't want anyone thinking I'm strictly Rock. Even though i love it, i won't forget my hip-hop loving readers, so heres some old school shit from Cypress Hill. Its a compilation of their greates hits.

Album features their popular hit single How I could just kill a man as well as Rock Superstar and Insane in the Brain.

Good good stuff is here, a good place to start for anyone looking to get familiar with the popular hip-hop group.

We're From America

Heres another American Bashing track from the goth king Marylin Manson.

Its off his High End Of Low album which gets a little personal as Manson sheds to light the feelings of depression he seems to be having these days.

With that said, its the best damn track on the whole album and it feels as though its place would have been best accepted in his Holy Wood album.

Manson said about the song:

"I think a lot of people will hear the track and initially think it's just political, but it's not just that, it's also me describing a lot of fucked-up scenarios that I'm going through in my personal life. Someone asked me, 'Why are you so fucked up?', 'Well, I am from America.' I hate the fact that so many people have fucked the country up, and so many people fucked up my personal life and I allowed it to happen. So in a way, I feel like America as a whole feels, but in no way does that make me a tree-hugging patriotic freedom rocker."

Check it if you dare, its sounds like it would be a main pick in an upcoming Manson compilation album.

There are many lists around the web on top musicians. When you set out to make such a list, you put yourself in a very embarrassing situation .
For the sake of valuable information, and a list worth following, heres the
Top 5 Male Rock Vocalists Of All Time.
This will surely establish my credibility as a music critic because as you see, I narrowed it down to 5. So here we go, counting down:

Numero 5: David Lee Roth ( Van Halen)
Rock group Van Halen was known for harboring Eddie Van Halen - one of the best guitarists of all time. But even though Eddie's guitar wailed the #1 rock solo(Eruption). It was Diamond Dave's wail that brought in the sold-out crowds.
His strong, bone shattering vocals hit you and make you shiver.
After Roth quit Van Halen and went solo, they produced extremely piss poor albums for the rest of their career, and to cap it all off they were a nightmare during live shows.
The void he left in Van Halen is testament enough to the wonder of Diamond Dave

Numero 4: Steven Tyler ( Aerosmith)
Dude looks like a lady but he sings like a god! Steven Tyler's voice has a certain magic to it that's unexplainable. He makes falsetto vocal notes into something of an art; an American Idol contestant whose name escapes me
( His last name was Gokey) failed horribly while trying to copy Tyler's sustained note near the end of Dream On. Once you are the only one capable of singing your songs in its full glory, then you deserve a top spot on a list like this.

Numero 3: Axl Rose (Guns N' Roses)
Back when 80's Rock bands tried to be the ultimate badasses, only one band proved it without even trying - Guns N' Roses. And the biggest badass in this band of badasses was Axl Rose.
Also the main songwriter of his band Axl's strict but wise management threw Guns N' Roses into the equivalent of 12 year success in only 5 short years. His singing voice is of a tenor range. Axl can sing parts ranging from bass to baritone, and to a high falsetto/soprano and has several recognized voices throughout most of his songs. Aside from this powerfull talent the man is one of the best frontment one of Rock's all-time greatest frontmen. How many frontment have you seen run laps around a stage and still have enough breath left in him to hold out notes without a sign of lost breath. He isn't the same singer he was before, but his yell from Welcome To The Jungle is loud enough to spill into a 21st century list.

Numero 2: Freddie Mercury (Queen)
When you talk about vocal range, breathing, vocal ability and power. Freddie Mercury is the man you were referring to. The power in this man's voice was enough to throw you off whatever mood you were in and make you want to join him in song.
Its a sad thing that such a good performer had to leave us so soon but Freddie Mercury has left a legacy unlike any other singer. Were talking about a man that was still blurting out classics even though he was in his deathbed. The man who wrote the best song in history( Bohemian Rhapsody) and sang it to perfection. Even though they continue as a collaboration beside Paul Rodgers, there is no Queen without Freddie.

The Best Male Rock Vocalist of all Time!: Robert Plant ( Led Zeppelin)

Stairway To Heaven, The Immigrant Song, Dazed and Confused. This is the man whose voice lies behind such Rock classics and the legendary band known as Led Zeppelin.
Plant's voice is soul in full definition, he has influenced the style of many of his contemporaries and later Rock vocalists who emulate his performing style extensively.
Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler and Axl Rose state Plant as an influence in their style.
While onstage, Plant would improvise his songs, and could wear a girl's shirt with a coolness that influenced the way I walk to the way I stand.
He continued on a succedful solo career that would rival that of his own Led Zeppelin.
Even at 61 years of age, he beat the
Chris Martin fronted Coldplay for Grammy Of The Year at the 2009 Grammy Awards, making a statement that he alone is better than the #1 Pop/Rock band in the world. That and way more things than i can list make Robert Plant the boss.

Best 21st Century Song I've Heard So Far!

This song has me flipping!!!! Its one of those magical moments when rock and rap combine to form some good musical fusion.

The song is by a very amazing band called The Black Keys and is part of their Blakroc collaboration album featuring some of the biggest names in rap/hip-hop.

http://rapidshare.com/files/291769200/Hoochie_Coo__feat._mos_def_and_jim_jones_.mp3.html

The song is titled Hoochie Coo, it's the first single from the album, and features Mos Def and Jim Jones who will be among the long list of rappers on Blakroc.
